Organization

During 1993, former members of the 503rd Military Police Battalion began to generate the idea of forming an organization that would enhance friendship between retired and active duty military policemen.  The primary initiative and effort to form such a support association came from retirees,  Mack Mullins, SFC (Ret), George Cade CSM (Ret), John Hodges SFC (Ret), and James Hall 1SG (Ret).  A mailing list was created and initial success was very limited.  We have had Christmas Parties for the active duty component and initiated a book mailing operation to military policemen stationed in Haiti.  In the early days of the organization there was no outside support groups to help Military policemen cope with the misery and stressors that were imposed on them.  One of our main goals is to ensure there is a ventilation process open to help keep the moral of our active duty and retired military police in a healthy state.   The organization has grown into an incorporated entity which now supports the  Military Police Community, as well as the Civilian  Law Enforcement Community with the programs it supported. We regularly recognize Military Police of the 16th MP Brigade for excellence. We support the identi kid program, in any community that requests our help. We are working to set up a Camp in West Virginia on land the organization owns. This program is proceeding nicely and we will visit the Camp this year during our conference. We are also going nation wide for membership and are constantly looking for those who have served and retain the history of the Corps. Stop by a Saturday meeting to learn more or go to the message board and ask a question, I am sure one of our members will have an answer for you. Having received e-mail the red is hard to read, I understand...Being patriotic and all it will stay this way for a quarter or so. I would like our membership to focus on the blue...keep working for the camp and increased membership... have you recruited a friend lately, the MP Corp is small world...
